What is WiBand

WiBand is Andisa’s own wireless broadband service that can deliver internet access to properties almost anywhere. The system overcomes all of the install costs associated with laying cables.

Our system is based on the Mikrotik networking equipment proven on our “Changing Children’s Lives” project in Nepal and gives simple high speed internet at better costs than Fibre or leased line delivery.

It’s just as at home connecting businesses to the internet in an industrial park as it is connecting homes or caravans in a community scheme.

How does it work?

We find a central point, business, riding centre, community centre etc where we can install a fast business grade internet connection. 5G Wireless connects you to a central distribution point so the signal is shared between all of your users.

How many people need to sign up?

The best installs have 30 plus properties. At this scale we can put a very high speed link in place at a more effective price. (see the expected price table below).

How long is the contract

The minimum term is 1 year. The length of contract affects the cost – the longer you sign up the cheaper the service. See the pricing tab below.

How many people can it support?

Once we install the central point we can supply the service to hundreds of users at a time.

What is needed in the house?

We supply a Wireless link, a router and Wi-Fi transmitter. The system needs two mains sockets.

We will mount the Wireless link near your roof, pointing at the distribution point. A cable runs from the roof down the outside of the house and in through the wall. The router and Wi-Fi transmitter sit on the windowsill or perhaps behind the TV in the corner of a room.

Install Costs

During installation we supply the wireless transmitter (to link to the distribution point), router (to make sure your network is secure) and a wireless access point (to make it easy to connect your devices around the house).

We will mount the wireless transmitter at roof level and run a cable down the outside of your house. This will enter the property through a window frame and be connected to a router / WiFi device standing on the windowcill.

Installation costs £280.

How does it work?

We probably already have a central leased line at your location and can connect you quite quickly to the network.

Our system works by sharing the cost of a high speed leased line between several businesses giving you the economy of scale.
The internet signal will be delivered to your business park or area using traditional leased lines and we distribute to your own building using Wireless links.

How many users does it support?

We have various levels of service for businesses depending on how heavy an internet user you are. Most people sign up for the 20Mb/s service because its faster than most broadband lines and just as reliable.

What equipment is needed?

We supply a wireless link and a router. Our engineers will configure the router to connect to your network and mount the Wireless link near your roof, pointing at the distribution point.
A cable runs from the roof down the outside of the building and in through the wall. The router.
