Microsoft has ended support for Windows 7 as of January 2020.
Your computer will still work but there will be no more updates available. This means that any bugs or vulnerabilities wont be fixed any longer.
You will have seen the News about cyber attacks throughout the last 18 months. There are organised groups out there probing for vulnerabilities. The fact that Windows 7 is not being fixed anymore means your organisation or home could become exposed. The risk is sufficiently high that UK’s National Cyber Security Centre (the Cyber arm of GCHQ intelligence) announced a warning to UK businesses to plan to upgrade away from Windows 7 as soon as possible.
There is a path to upgrade to Windows 10 at little cost.
